Pitanje: What new skills have you acquired since working with micro:bit?
Haris: While working with micro:bit, I improved my coding skills, working with team members, as well as critical thinking when solving problems.
Pitanje: What are the benefits of teamwork? How was teamwork helped during the creation of the project?
Haris: The advantages of teamwork are that we can share responsibilities according to the abilities of each team member. So, everyone can do what works best for them and in the end the team achieves great results. We are also exchanging opinions, which was certainly useful when creating this project.
Pitanje: What was the inspiration for choosing this topic for the project?
Haris: The inspiration for this topic was the desire to provide hearing-impaired and deaf children with the same opportunities as their peers when monitoring classes and taking tests.
Pitanje: Are classes more interesting when micro:bits are used?
Haris: Classes are definitely more interesting when we use micro:bit because students have the opportunity to see the concrete results of their work.
Pitanje: Which profession will you choose? Will critical thinking and problem solving be useful for you in that job?
Haris: The profession I will choose will certainly have a touch with programming, technology and the creation of devices that can make people's lives easier. Since I am interested in mechatronics, I think that critical thinking will be of great use to me in detecting problems and solving the same problems with the use of devices that we can program.
Pitanje: What would you say to peers who are considering whether to apply for the next competition?
Haris: I would like to tell my peers to apply for such competitions, because it is exciting, creative and gives us the opportunity to see the results of our work, and every achievement fills us with a sense of success.
Pitanje: What new skills have you acquired since working with micro:bit?
Mirza: I have gained a lot of skills since working with micro:bit. One of them is logical thinking and how sometimes even the most complicated things actually require a simple solution, and this can be achieved by programming with micro:bit blocks. I also learned how to be a leader and how to pass on knowledge to others, as well as that we should always listen to other colleagues working with me, and that we should always listen to all ideas and ultimately decide together for the best one.
Pitanje: What are the benefits of teamwork? How was teamwork helped during the creation of the project?
Mirza: As I said in the first question we can exchange, supplement and refine ideas. It is much easier to work in a team because we can rely on other team members, learn from others, support each other and everyone can focus on a particular part of the project and finally work together to do the whole thing properly. Teamwork was very important during the creation of our SeeVoice project.
Pitanje: What was the inspiration for choosing this topic for the project?
Mirza: We chose this idea because we wanted to do something for society. We realized that the idea is different from all the existing projects we have considered, so far no one has done something similar. Also, the idea belonged to humanitarian projects, which was decisive in the choice.
Pitanje: Are classes more interesting when micro:bits are used?
Mirza: Our classes are much more interesting with micro:bit because we can practice and develop thinking skills, we could transfer our knowledge to friends, but also learn a lot of new things that we did not know until now. It was interesting that we learned in a different way and that everyone was interested in working and learning.
Pitanje: Which profession will you choose? Will critical thinking and problem solving be useful for you in that job?
Mirza: My profession will definitely be related to informatics and programming. I will need critical thinking and reasoning skills because programming is just that - the ability to make the right decisions and conclusions to make a functional program.
Pitanje: What would you say to peers who are considering whether to apply for the next competition?
Mirza: I would recommend other students to apply for the competition, because it is an opportunity to learn in a different way, to develop their ideas, to test their knowledge, to develop a competitive spirit and to meet a lot of new people in the field of informatics. I can't wait for a new competition.
