Building nations and connecting cultures: education policy, economic development and engagement

Tuesday 3 May 2016 to Thursday 5 May 2016, Cape Town

What would make a critical difference to mainstreaming diversity within the higher education sector? What role does quality assurance of higher education play in building strong, open economies? Join the Going Global 2016 conference to debate questions like these, and network with education leaders from around the world.

Going Global is an open forum for education world leaders to debate international higher and further education issues, challenges and possible collaborative solutions.

Since its beginning in 2004, Going Global has grown from a bi-annual event in the UK to an annual event alternating between the UK and a major international city. Each year it attracts more than 1,000 leaders from across further and higher education sectors and a variety of other industries with perspectives on international education.

Going Global 2016 will examine non-compulsory education through the following lenses:

  • Education policy: local priorities, national systems and global drivers
  • Economic development: skills, enterprise, research and innovation
  • Engagement: democracy, social justice and international relations
