Making a difference

At a time when independent media faces numerous challenges – from the commercialisation of content to limited access to information and resources for investigative journalism – support from programmes like Western Balkans Media for Change is crucial for sustaining independent journalism and preserving a critical voice in society. These programmes enable journalists to explore important topics without external pressures, contribute to the media pluralism and strengthen the role of media in holding power to account and correcting social injustices.

If we can make a difference for even one woman trapped in a cycle of violence, help someone navigate their struggle with depression, or lift the veil of secrecy around the issues we face daily that are still seen as taboos, then we know our mission is on the right path. These are the driving forces behind our work and also the purpose of our podcast – the Taboo Show.

Radio Active Zenica is a youth-led, non-governmental, non-profit community radio station, established with the goal of giving a voice to young people and offering content and music that is largely absent from other stations. Since its founding, the focus has been on working with young people, educating and empowering children and youth to create media content for their peers, thereby promoting content created by young people for young people.
