Balkan Beats Fusion

The "Balkan Beats Fusion" project aimed to blend traditional and modern musical styles from the Western Balkans, creating a dynamic and innovative musical experience while preserving the region's rich cultural heritage.

Over the course of 14 months, the project brought together electronic and traditional musicians to collaborate and create new music, bridging the gap between genres and communities. By mixing traditional sounds with electronic music, the project not only produced fresh, innovative sounds but also provided new perspectives on both contemporary and traditional music, breaking down cultural and musical boundaries.

The project focused on recording traditional music, bringing together electronic and traditional musicians from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Serbia. It also aimed to promote this music through a newly established record label and showcase the collaboration between the artists at events.

Balkan Beats Fusion aimed to introduce younger generations to traditional music in a new and engaging way, offering them an opportunity to experience innovative blends of regional sounds. For both traditional musicians and electronic music producers, the project provided a platform for collaboration and creativity, promoting their work outside their standard/usual geographical areas as well as expanding their network and audience reach.
