We were delighted to be the platinum sponsor of the ELT for Sustainability Conference held on October 12 in Sarajevo.
The conference highlighted the importance of language in addressing various topics related to sustainability, specifically how English Language Teaching (ELT) contributes to promoting it and achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The topics included the definition of sustainability itself and the way the ELT and local communities can foster it, how to increase creative and practical student engagement in becoming more environmentally sensitive, and how reflective thinking on a “glocal” level can serve as a catalyst for positive change.
The conference gathered over 100 attendees from 8 countries, featured 6 speakers, facilitated important discussions on integrating sustainability into ELT curricula and provided networking opportunities for ELT practitioners.
