Join us for the special guided tour of Grayson Perry's exhibition ''The Vanity of Small Differences'' by known theather director Selma Spahić. Selma will not have a standard curatorship through the exhibition, but she will share her interpretation of the tapestries with the exampe of the temporary community consisted of the visitors. She will talk about the class and gender issues, Perry's critique of the society, facing the prejudice but also about coffee makers, cars, organic food, porcelain dogs, and also about tabloids. She will stress the taste that our class imposes on us, which is formed from the day we are born. The whole Perry experience will be in female gender.
She saw the exhibition as: ''Colorful voyage of one of the most exciting, most subversive and unconventional artists of today. WHO IS SELMA SPAHIĆ?
Selma Spahić was born in 1986. She graduated from Academy of performing Arts in Sarajevo, Department of Directing.
So far she has directed plays and held workshops on this topic in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Slovenia and Great Britain. She has directed the following plays: Hipermnezija (Heartefact / BITEF, Serbia), Grebanje ili Kako se ubila moja baka (BNP ZE / Heartefact, BiH / Serbia), Žene koje čiste (CNP Podgorica, Montenegro), Natatorijum (National theatre Subotica, Serbia), Tajna džema od malina (SARTR / MESS, BiH), Skupština (National theatre Sarajevo / Kamerni teatar ’55 / SARTR, BiH), Kokoš (MESS / ZeKaeM / BITEF, BiH / Croatia / Serbia), Liliom (SNG Drama Ljubljana, Slovenia), tisočdevetstoenainosemdeset (SNG Drama Maribor, Slovenia), Majstor i Margarita (HNK Ivana pl. Zajca Rijeka, Coatia), Moja Fabrika (BNP Zenica, BiH), 4 ujutro (Pozorište Kostolanyi Dezso, Serbia).
She is a professional associate at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo and art director of the International Theater Festival MESS.
